My approach

I am a clinical herbalist with a passion for the natural world. After studying clinical herbalism, nutrition, somatics, & Traditional Chinese Medicine for the last 8 years, my greatest passion is helping people get out of health ruts and back into their vital state. My approach is to listen and do the diggin’ work to get to the root cause, provide you with custom herbal formulations, lifestyle tips and nutrition & a customized plan of care to support your body back into alignment.

Hi, I’m devalina.

My journey to holistic health was a tipsy turvy one. Classic burnout from college and its collection of bad habits like sleep deprivation, vices to get through stressful times and way too many stimulants. After that chapter I decided to stall on pursuing a traditional career and travel (great decision btw). That beautiful chapter was full of growth and learning, but I also came home with multiple parasites and a new viral load. The combination was full on. I was loosing my hair, reactive to anything I ate, irratic menstrual cycles, zero energy and brain fog to the extreme.

I tried seeing multiple MD’s, then to a slew of natropaths and a whole lot of money spent on supplements and appointments. I still wasn’t feeling better. After almost 2 years of struggle, I was recommended to see an herbalist and an acupuncturist. Boom- things started to shift finally. Not only was my health shifting, but inspiration was abundant. I decided to go back to school—this time the focus was different. I dove into nutrition school, herbalism school and TCM. Fast-forward 8 years, I am more in love with learning about the body and healing than ever and continue to dive deeper.

Herbalism and natural world have helped me greatly with chronic pain, irregular menstrual cycles, chronic digestive complaints, fatigue and more.

I teach locally & virtually in Santa Cruz (Ohlone land) & at the Berkeley Herbal Center & gatherings around the west coast.

When I am not nerding out about plants, I am passionate about gardening, bee-centric beekeeping, tanning hides, back-packing & really anything that gets me outside or my hands dirty.
